Default New to Ritualist

For those new to the game like myself I have found the Rit profession not to be as straight forward as the others. I have just turned level 20 for the first time with her and am very proud I have made it that far.

Normally I would level up a character and end up restarting due to some hard mission or boredom, but for some reason something kept me coming back to the Ritualist. I cant help but feel that their is so much potential left in this class I have not seen and others have not seen themselves.

For the new GW player and someone who chose a Ritualist to be hist first level 20 character, do you have any tips about playing one or equiping one that I can try out?

Currently this is what I am running.

Cruel was Daoshan
Channeled Strike
Ancestors Rage
Generous was Tsangi
Weapon of Warding
Recuperation
Flesh of my Flesh
Soothing Memories
-----------------------
Channeling 12
Restoration 12
Communing 3

I mainly henched alot up until the mainland where I have started by using Weapon of Warding and Recup spirit to help heal, but I know im missing something that will bring me up to the next level of Rit Education.

Thank you for reading.

i've started new rit as well

usually i'm trying to get the most out of each char's primary att, and spawning is rly useful, i've finished NF without serious problems (got stuck at 1 mis, but that was it) w/o most factions elites - i moved my rit to NF right after i capped wanderlust, so no rit lord spirit spammer 4 me i maxed spawn and commun and went with some pretty standart combo of few spirits (like union, pain, shadowsong, bloodsong, wanderlust, displacement and such) - u can go more offencive or defencive by adding/removing this or that spirit - and i used doom alot, especially when i wasnt using weapon spells, nice damage.
i've tryed almost the same build some time ago w/o any points in spawning - i was bored and decided to try diff mes/rit builds - and i have to tell u high spawning makes a HUGE difference. plus there r some nice spawn elites u might want to use.....

If you guys are looking for a good channeling build, here's what I've been using:

Spirit Burn
Channeled Strike
Gaze from Beyong
Spirit Boon Strike
Pain
Bloodsong
Soul Twisting
Flesh of my Flesh

Channeling - 16
Communing - 10
Spawning Power - 10
leftover in Restoration

You can play around with the numbers a little bit, but the build works well in PvE. I'll post up some restoration builds another time, and there should be some posted here as well.

That was the same with me when I first started a Mesmer. I ended up deleting my first one because I kept dying and eventually got bored. When I realised that Mesmer was the most exciting class for me compared to the others, I went and made another one. Now he's my most played character^^.

The channeling line has a nice array of skills. Particularly, if you have a spirit + [wiki]Essence Strike[/wiki] then your enery management is set. Alot of the skills in this line really rely on you staying near your spirit, so spirit placement becomes an important issue. With Kais's build and the use of two spirits, it provides very good mobility and the recharge times of those spirits allow you to plant one and move along. If I were him I'd swap out [wiki]Channeling Strike[/wiki] for Essence Strike so he can constantly cast and cast and cast:P.

Restoration builds are becoming more and more popular, it'll be easy to look for a build for that line if you hang around the campfire and take a gaze at the other threads.

For a great team supporter use the listed build below.

(Rt/A)

Presarvation
Soothing memories
Mend body and soul
Spirit light
Weapon of warding
Spirit of recuperation
Res sig
Spirit walk.
-------
Tactics

Use Preservation to support yourself, then recupiration for your teammates.
Use weapon of warding to spam 7+ Gen and 50% Block rate for your Ally.

use the healing spells to both heal yourself or Allies.
Use Spirit walk to Annoy Meleers or to Not get Cornered.

you will love this build once you get used to it
